“The Clean Truck Check Program requires vehicles over 14,000 pounds to periodically smog check their vehicles, pay a compliance fee and register vehicles in a database.

If you do not register and pay the fee, California registered vehicles will receive a registration hold with the DMV. Out-of-state based registered vehicles must fulfill these requirements before entering the state or may face penalties for not registering and paying the compliance fee.

CARB delayed the periodic testing requirements until January 1, 2025, but operators must still pay a compliance fee for each vehicle in 2024. Please join CTA staff to learn more about the Clean Truck Check program requirements and how you can comply with this regulation.”.
